it's been a while!

Hello friends! It sounds incredibly stupid to be saying Happy New Year in February, but 2011 has got away from me a little! Perhaps my flippant "see you at Easter" remark just before Christmas was more on the money than I thought ;)

I began the new year still with the receding tide of the old, swimming in the shallows of it, wondering what would come next.

But then, things happened. No matter how much you plan, sometimes things take you by surprise. Sometimes you don't set your own goals, they come and find you instead!

I have three goals this year:

1. Cross the finishing line of the London Marathon (I found out 3 weeks ago I got in! It's now 9 weeks away!)
2. Finish a full first draft of my novel by my 30th birthday.
3. Spend Christmas with my family in Australia.

Anything else will be a BONUS!

How is 2011 working out for you all so far? Anything exciting to report?

Tom and I also had our honeymoon in Portugal two weeks ago - it was wonderful! Lots of photos and stories to share. Just thought I'd better stop in and let you know I'm still alive ;)

More soon! xx

Glad you stopped in to give an update, Phil. I'd been wondering how you were.

Good luck meeting those goals. It's always a good idea to set a goal and give it a deadline, that way you know where you're heading.

Great goals - I bet you'll achieve every little bit of this :-)
